About this beach

Bachelor’s Beach is at Belnem, about 3 km south of the centre of Kralendijk. The beach lies below a low limestone ledge of about 3 metres and cannot be seen from the road. A short staircase leads down. In Papiamentu it is called Fòrn’i Kalki.

The beach is small and narrow and can feel full at busy times. The reef starts close to shore and the water on this side of the island is usually calm. You can see parrotfish and surgeonfish, and sometimes sea turtles. It is also a shore dive site. The last step into the water is over rock and can be slippery: water shoes or flip-flops help.

There are no facilities and hardly any shade. Food and drinks are not sold here; the food trucks are at Te Amo Beach. Dogs are not allowed. It is quietest early in the morning but fills quickly when a group of divers arrives. For young children, Te Amo Beach is more practical.
