About this beach
Playa Frans is at the northern end of Bonaire, near Rincón. According to Bonaire’s tourism site the beach is ‘somewhat hard to get to’ but worth the effort. Another source describes it as an old, remote fishing village with no surf, next to abandoned salt pans where many flamingos feed.
The beach has small areas of sand amid rocky terrain. It is usually deserted and you mostly hear the sea and seabirds. The official page says nothing about swimming conditions, entry points or facilities; do not count on any, and bring water and shade. The STINAPA Nature Fee is needed for all water activities.

Rustig en helder
“Rustig strandje, helder water, goed snorkelen. Weinig voorzieningen, dus zelf meenemen. Fijne ontdekking.”

“Mooie plek, redelijk onbekend. Water was top, zand oké. We kwamen er bijna niemand tegen.”

Aangenaam en stil
“Aangenaam en stil. Goede toevoeging als je de westkust verkent.”
